With over 2,000 types of shrimp available world-wide, you can bet that shrimp is a popular seafood. In fact, the United States ranks third in fresh shrimp consumption, with China and Japan leading the way. And what’s not to love? These tiny creatures can be cooked a variety of ways, are packed with flavor, and have a surprising health benefit.  What is it, you might ask?

Well, shrimp contain a special antioxidant known as selenium. Selenium is a mineral with antioxidants that activate certain enzymes in your body. Those enzymes are important in the fight against cancer. You could possibly reduce your cancer risk if you make foods rich in selenium a part of your diet. So, eating these little, tasty morsels is also good for your health.           

At Roger Dize Seafood, we work hard to harvest fresh shrimp. But, because shrimp can perish very quickly, we prepare the shrimp for transport for your kitchen for you to cook them, using your favorite recipe.  We offer Individually Quickly Frozen Shrimp, or breaded Shrimp.
