Scallops

If you want one of the healthiest choices around for your diet, look no further than scallops! When you buy fresh scallops or if you choose to buy frozen scallops, you are wisely choosing a bivalve mollusk that consists of 80 per cent protein. Fresh or frozen, scallops are also and rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins.

Like oysters and clams, scallops have two shells, with a tasty, tender inside. Some have a taste akin to almonds or hazelnuts with their slightly nutty flavor. The scallop’s tender, buttery texture is similar to crab or lobster. You can cook scallops a variety of ways – and it doesn’t matter the recipe, scallops are always a treat!

When you buy fresh scallops, know that Roger Dize Seafood proudly harvests the seafood we sell. Be aware that when you buy fresh scallops, their shelf-life is very short. So, we advise that you prepare and eat them as soon to arrival as possible. If you cannot cook your scallops in a quick-turnaround time, we suggest that you buy frozen scallops. Our frozen scallops are Individually Quickly Frozen. IQF scallops don’t stick together, so cook only what you need.
